On November 30, Year 8 students, under the guidance of Ms. George, organized an afternoon tea party for UISZ’s ayi’s. This is a AFS (Action for Service) idea is from Mickey Jo. The purpose of this event was to give the ayi’s recognition, and to let them know that teachers and students are thankful for all they do.

Year 8 students spent a lot of time organizing this afternoon tea party in classroom 2; they spent lunch time together to write notices to all the teachers asking for donations. Some students changed their CCA so that they could learn how to make tea. Students asked for tea sets, bought cakes, decorated the classroom, and made a PPT with all they quotes that teachers said and displayed it to ayi’s.

A lot of time was spent ensuring that the afternoon tea party was perfect. Once all the ayi’s were in the room, the party began. The ayies enjoyed the party, and they were very grateful to Year 8 students for their efforts.

Mickey, the inspiration behind this event, said “The party turned out very well, but I wish we had more time to spend with the ayi’s, it was only thirty minutes” Ms.George said that all Year 8 students did a great job, and that they all acted like an adults.

Year 8 also spent a lot of time cleaning up after the party was over.
