The Year 9 AFS (Action for Service) students, with the guidance of Ms. Bozzetti and Ms. George, organized and ran a smoothie fundraiser. This fundraiser will support the UISZ EcoEdu event held in April at UISZ. There will be more events like this throughout the year that the student can look forward to.
Take Erin and Sella’s class, and you will not only learn Korean; you’ll get some insight on Korean culture as well.
Erin and Sella are currently offering Korean language lessons to fulfill their CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) project. CAS fosters personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience.
Although CAS is a requirement for IB students, Erin and Sella have developed a passion for teaching the class.
“In the first lesson, I realized that students don’t really have an understanding of the Korean culture, so Sella and I wanted to change that. We aren’t only teaching the Korean language, we want to build understanding between our cultures, too.”
Classes are held at the Dragon House in Room 111 each Monday and Wednesday after school.
In this video, UISZ students and MUN director Gregory Peebles talk about the life-changing journey that helps students develop confidence in leading others, a stronger awareness of global issues, and the chance to make new friends from around the world. #better@uisz #iamuisz
Year 12 students completed their TOL presentations this week. They were excited to speak about all of the concepts they’ve learned over the past year in TOK. All students were successful, and they each had very successful presentations. Many thanks to Jon Armitage for his guidance and support in this endeavor.
